A little over a year ago, I read some advice that really stuck with me.
Lifestyle expert and author of “The Seductive Home,” Moll Anderson, says the only pictures that belong in your bedroom are of you and your significant other, which ultimately means to leave the pet/children/family photos for the rest of the house.
Make sense?
Well, think about it. You can’t really have a romantic spot with Mom and Dad peering from a picture frame, right 😉 anyway, this statement caused me to be VERY selective as to what I do and do NOT use as décor items in our master [including wall art]. SO, here are the two new prints I hung up over our bed this past weekend:
I first discovered K. Barteski’s work thanks to a pin by Summer Bellessa from The Girls With Glasses blog and quickly purchased “WE BE happy” shortly after. Her work is really inviting and has such a positive vibe. Love, love, love! The “For Like Ever” print, however, wasn’t such an easy venture. It’s my personal version of a white whale. I became obsessed with it the first moment I saw it back in 2004, but it was sold out . . . at least, to my knowledge. Then when domino Magazine came roaring back into the scene last year [thank goodness!] I saw it again thanks to their new website format. And yes, I could have gone with any of the amazing colors that this particular print comes in, but I wanted it in its original pink/red design. Now, you’re probably thinking I had this brilliant plan all along to hang them together. Nope, I’m not that good. To be honest, I didn’t even realize they were close to the same size! It wasn’t until I started this whole “finishing projects before starting new ones” bit that I started mulling over where exactly I would like to use them. I mean I knew I wanted them in our bedroom. I just wasn’t sure where. Then I ran across the Michael’s awesome 50% + 30% off custom framing coupon and the rest is history.

What do you think? I don’t know about you, but I just love the positive message they bring me every time I step foot in our room 🙂 because me and D = WE BE happy For Like Ever.
