As I get ready to embark on yet another ROOM BLOOM on YouTube project this month ๐Ÿงก my Orange Tank 2020 Pitch ๐Ÿงก [click here to see my winning pitch] ๐Ÿงกย  my technicolor brain immediately starts pondering on paint for the project and all its endless possibilities, so I thought I would share with y’all color lovers today how I personally go about deciding on design colors as I continue transforming our once “Fifty Shades of Tan” house into the colorful Atomic Ranch home of our dreams . . .

A formal living room before it is painted/transformed.

Just like I did for our FORMAL LIVING ROOM’s fireplace transformation = a non-traditional design idea that packed major punch and was simply created with paint!

Three people admiring a fireplace's new paint.

And that’s ultimately what I mean when I say = “THE POWER OF PAINT” ๐ŸŽจ how an individual can take an unattractive-inanimate object [like our living room’s BLAH fireplace] and make it eye-popping-ly beautiful with a good coat of paint; which is ultimately WHY my go-to brand is BEHR ๐Ÿ˜‰ but deciding on WHAT COLOR of BEHR can be an overwhelming decision and that’s why when I find myself feeling at all indecisive [like with the fireplace] I go straight to The Home Depot ProjectColor App!

Painting Fireplace Photo Progression

Why? Because when armed with The Home Depot ProjectColor App for your painting project, you no longer have to GUESS whether or not this [blank] paint color you’re considering for your painting project is in fact the perfect shade of paint for your project and your home ๐Ÿค” INSTEAD you can now straight up visualize it [on your phone] in an instant just by uploading a before picture of your project ๐ŸŽ‰ allowing yourself as a home owner to take a visually deep breath of confidence . . .

It’s exactly how a color lover like myself was able to finalize what my gut was trying to tell me with this fireplace = that BEHR’s Black was in fact THAT perfect shade!

You see I was initially struggling with this decision regarding the fireplace’s base color, because as a designer, I am constantly agonizing a space’s overall balance with the juxtaposition of its colors, but thanks to The Home Depot ProjectColor App, the stress of making a concrete decision on paint was eliminate by the magic of sight. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Allowing a DOER like myself more time to confidently prep and paint the fireplace’s entire wood surface just in time for Ruben Rojas‘s colorfully-artistic handy work!

I honestly do not think this fireplace mural would have had turned out as RAD as it did if I hadn’t have tested that BEHR Black paint out first via The Home Depot ProjectColor App ๐Ÿ“ฒ I might have gone with a primary or secondary color instead and wouldn’t have given Ruben’s “loves” the dramatic POP they ultimately deserve, but thankfully the ProjectColor App steered me in the right direction and gave me the color confidence to select this particular hue from Home Depot 2020 Color Palette!
