One of my favorite weeks of the year is finally here = HALLOWEEN!
And there is so much going on: a baking class with Leslie, pumpkin carving with D, Trick-or-Treaters to greet, scary movies to watch, and last-minute “decor” details to finish up for Art After Dark this Friday.
[Oy!]
The busyness is welcomed, though, as it’s all in the name of good fun.
Over the weekend, me and D started our own “All Hallows Eve” celebrating early with an overnight stay at the Hard Rock Hotel here in San Diego. We were invited to this insane Halloween party of theirs by a business acquaintance of D’s, and my, oh my! I am SOOO glad we were.
Now, once we accepted the wonderful offer, the costume-brainstorming scramble began. D pretty much knew he wanted to be Dos Equis’ “The Most Interesting Man In The World,” where as I hadn’t even given this year’s costume a single thought. Of course, I still had some of my costumes from prior years. The main challenge, however, was D thought our costumes should go together [which I loved] and since I didn’t really want to spend a ton of money, I ran with his first idea and quickly became “His Drink of Choice.”
The best part of our costume combo is that it was original.
Well, at least, I believe it to be . . . according to my Google searches; no other couple has done this sort of concept before. I mean other men have dressed up as D’s, but no pair has apparently attempted this abstract duo. [YAY!] The other fabulous part is only a few items were purchased to make it happen: white hair spray, supplies to create the label, a green dress, and green tights. The dress is awesome too, because I can wear it over and over and over again. And what lady’s closet doesn’t need some more emerald in it 😉
“Cuba imports cigars from him. Mosquitos refuse to bite him purely out of respect. In museums, he is allowed to touch the art.“ – Dos Equis
The entire event was spectacular – its decor was perfection, the adult beverages were flowing [“Stay thirsty, my friends.”], and with everyone else’s costumes, some top-notch people watching was going on.
All in all, we had just a blast.
Hell, I even got D on the dance floor!
You two look great! How did you make the Dos Equis emblem? My boyfriend and I are trying to create these outfits.
I purchased all the supplies from Michaels. I cannot wait to see yours! According to Google last Halloween, we were the first couple to do this sort of outfit. Please tag Lucky Little Mustardseed when you post your costumes on social media 😉 I’m sure you two will look great!
