Last Friday was the weirdest, best day.

Well Hello, iPhone 6!

(My Former iPhone 5 with My New iPhone 6)

See, I’ve been having some issues with my iPhone 5 as of late. And since I’m a one-woman business, I haven’t really found the time to go into a Verizon store to have it looked at, because, well, who has the time to wait in those kinds of lines?! ANYWAY, after we got back home from Nebraska, D had told me about a Verizon opening up on Carlsbad Village Drive = that’s only a couple blocks away from our current home! SO, I went into the new location last Wednesday and found out two things:

1) Both me and D were eligible for phone upgrades.

AND

2) The iPhone 6 would be available at said new location on Friday.

I could not believe my ears! MOSTLY because I only knew “of” the new iPhone 6. I had no idea what was new about it nor when it was coming out. For some odd reason, I had October drilled in my brain, but I’m a little crazy like that 😉 okay, now back to the story! As soon as the nice Verizon guy told me about this fabulous news, I [of course] shot D a text about our newly-found good fortune. He was completely on board. Therefore on Friday morning, we got up bright and early. D went straight to the store to get in line and I ran to Starbucks for some much-needed caffeine for the both of us. This is where things got strange. Here I am, standing in line at “Four Bucks,” when D texts me, “We’re the first ones in line.” It was about 7:00 a.m. at this point. I was just baffled. Did I get the day wrong? After I got our eye-opening beverages, I quickly joined D in line a couple blocks away. Upon my arrival, I was shocked. We were not only the first ones in line BUT the only ones in line. [CrAzY!] So we stood there. And stood there. We even saw the Verizon guys come in and start setting up. It wasn’t until about 7:45 a.m. before we were joined in line . . . by one other lone soul. It made me giggle. How are we the only fools in line?

I’m sure by now a few of you might be calling bullsh*t. However, it’s honestly the truth. #meandD got our fancy new iPhone 6’s with absolutely no hassle and the only “wait” we experienced was the time it took for Verizon to active them. I wish this was the case for everyone, but I sadly realize it is not. I will have to say, though, that if you ARE patiently waiting for your new [ridiculously cool] walky-talky to be delivered, it’s definitely worth the wait. The thing is freaking AWE-mazing! I also feel obliged to mention that I opted for the gold one; turns out it’s more rose gold than actual gold. Yep, this copper-tastic feen was pretty elated 🙂
