But by now, you already knew that 😉 but can you believe we’re already one-third through our historical 9-month fashionable countdown for the La Valencia Hotel’s Hot Pink 90th Celebration??? I mean crazy, right?! Including today, we only have six more looks to debut here on LuckyLittleMustardseed.com BEFORE the La Valencia Hotel has it’s 90th “Roaring 20s” Birthday Party on Thursday, December 15th. That’s right! “The Pink Lady” first opened its doors in 1926 and hired me to be both the face/stylist for this year’s stylish BiRtHdAy! campaign. So far on the blog, I have shared the story behind the idea and “The Pink Lady’s” 2000s, 90s, and 80s ensembles. And let me tell you, with each outfit and each photoshoot [excuse me while I brag about #teamhotpink for a moment] each decade just gets better and better. For example, I cannot WAIT for you to see the 50s swimsuit shoot we did [seriously insane] NOT TO MENTION, we haven’t even shot the last three decades yet. I cannot BEGIN to imagine how fun it will be to wear those looks [FUN FACT: Two of the remaining three looks are being custom-created by TWO Fashion Week San Diego 2016 designers] AND THEN, there’s the huge party at the end of the year?!?!?! Best. Gig. EVER. But you’ll have to wait a little bit longer on all of those official PARTY details! Now, how about we talk some 70s style . . .

I’m sure it’s pretty clear who my inspiration was for our 70s shoot. The hippie gypsy herself = Cher! HOWEVER, since “The Pink Lady” isn’t into showing as much hide as the former wife of Sonny Bono, I decided to mix in a side of Jackie from “That 70s Show” by grooving in this pink pant suit number by Trina Turk. I then accessorized it with items I already had in my personal arsenal and dug out my own mother’s actual pumps from her 1970s teenage years AND . . . POW! Close your eyes girl. Look inside girl. Let the sound take you away!

Which was pretty easy with our newest addition to Team Hot Pink = Rachel Galati Hair! I’ve known Rachel for sometime now, from the TWIG hair lounge in the Bressi Ranch area of Carlsbad, where I’ve been getting my hair did ever since I moved to San Diego in 2009 . . . ANYWAY, she is an absolute expert in all things decade hair-related and gave my ever-changing lob these much-needed SWEET extensions. I just love this photo of us here as she continually tries to hide my short hair at the shoot. LOL!
