Hey there, y’all!! I am HAPPIER than a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese RN writing you this blog post. Why? Well, IF you follow me on IG, you know that over the weekend I decided to take a chance on my designer skills and signed up as a “guest participant” in the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE for the first-time EVER! 😅
For those of you not familiar with the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE, it’s a biannual online interior design event that happens every April and October; during which selected interior designers and guest participants have six weeks to pick/start/design/renovate/complete a room of their choosing while documenting the entire experience on both their blogs and social media for the WORLD [and BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS] to see! I mean how could I not?? It’s BHG!! SO RAD!!!!!
But since this IS my first time with the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE, I decided that a smaller room was the smart way to go, thus I picked the ENTRYWAY in our home to transform over the next six weeks – a currently NOT so inviting space that pretty much has stayed the same ever since moving into it three years ago.
And as you can see by these iPhone “BEFORE” photos, this space does not match up at all with my RAINBOW BRITE personality and I honestly cannot wait to get my creative, worker bee hands on it 💪🏻 I hope you’ll follow along too as the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE‘s twenty [hand-selected] interior designers + other “guest participants” like myself take you behind the scenes as “we” transform our rooms – week by week on both our blogs and on IG for the next six weeks!
“Our” hope is that YOU will visit each of our sites EACH WEEK as “we” share the good, the bad, and the unexpected of real life room design . . . like next week, when I reveal to y’all what my ENTRYWAY design inspirations/renovation goals are for this ONE ROOM CHALLENGE 😉 I can already promise you it’s going to be a COLORFUL one! Let’s just cross our fingers that I don’t go insane in the meantime = adding another ROOM to my already LOOOOOOONG renovation list!

Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Love your family room makeover. I am a lover of colorful interiors too. I’m glad to see more of that content on Instagram etc.
Thank you so much, Gina! I’m glad to hear you’re a color lover as well 🙂 life is too short to live anything but colorfully!
You are starting with really good bones.
