What’s that saying again . . . “the road to hell is paved with good intentions?!” I think that might just be the PERFECT way describe my ONE ROOM CHALLENGE space. Why?? Well, if you’ve been following along on either my IG and/or this blog, you are more than familiar . . . but for those who don’t, I’ll spare you the tears and quickly type . . . my Grandma Margaret [whom helped raise me] suddenly passed away the very first week of the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE, which of course was absolutely awful and heartbreaking and threw a giant wrench in my plans ๐ besides throwing an unexpected trip to my Grandma’s birthplace/hometown in the mix, it also created another situation that, crazily enough, was already sort of bonkers . . . you see I had originally planned to demo/renovate/design my ONE ROOM CHALLENGE space in four weeks [not six weeks] time. WHAT THE WHAT?! I know, I know = that was an absolutely CrAzY plan to start with but hear me out! The reason I was trying to be so ambious is because I already made plans to have a college friend come stay with us and go to the Sara Bareilles’ “AMIDST THE CHAOS” Tour with me, which was last night . . . something that was planned MONTHS before I had decided to once again participate in the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE . . . AND I also knew we would be going to VEGAS sometime shortly after that . . . yep, YIKES IS RIGHT! So let me be the first to say that I will NOT be revealing a completed, renovated space next week. NOPE! But that hasn’t stopped me from making some progress on our HALF BATH this week ๐ started taking down that old wallpaper!!
As you can tell by my step-by-step pictures in this post, this is one of the messy parts of the “ROUGH WORK” for our half bath renovation project. Luckily for me, however, this wallpaper itself is pretty old and dry, so I didn’t have to scour the wallpaper before peeling off the decorative top layer. Once the decorative part was off, I then scoured the leftover backing, creating little punch holes, so the wallpaper removing spray could seep through the backing to the underneath side, which starts reactivating the old glue paste, so I can ultimately scrap off ALL of the old wallpaper all the way down to the original drywall ๐ท๐ปโโ๏ธ you know so I can just turn around and hang NEW WALLPAPER in our ONE ROOM CHALLENGE space ๐คช yes I know, that’s CRAY-CRAY, but you know what?! This color-loving heart wants what it wants!!
