This doesn’t happen very often, folks, but the Kansas City Royals were here in San Diego Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for a series against the Padres . . . and we were there for every single game 🙂
Yep, me and D had a nice, mini-vacation this week, staying downtown at The Bristol Hotel for the Royals @ Padres series. We attended all three games [two at night and one during the day] = making for a VERY enjoying time! The first game was exciting with Eric Hosmer’s first homerun of the season, but sadly, we lost in extra innings. That’s okay, though! Because, well, we went on to win the series, which made these two Royals fans pretty darn happy 😉 AND before game 3, Hosmer even signed D’s “Hosmer” jersey and my KC baseball cap. [Pretty cool!] Besides our love of the game, we also ate some yummy ballpark food, which is part of the fun [am I right or am I right?] including Seaside Market’s World Famous Burgundy Pepper Tri Tip. We first had this what locals call “Cardiff Crack” last Fourth of July at our friend’s Diane’s house, who funny enough is the daughter/sister of the owners of the Seaside Market in Cardiff by the Sea. [How cool is that?] It’s honestly the best beef [sorry Nebraska] that I have ever tasted and it’s all in the seasoning. Anyway, it’s new to Petco Park, so next time you’re there OR headed up to North County, I highly recommend you try it. Now, where was I? Oh, yea! Baseball.
“Baseball is a lot like life. It’s a day-to-day existence, full of ups and downs. You make the most of your opportunities in baseball as you do in life.” – Ernie Harwell
All-in-all, the past three days were fantastic – full of baseball, hanging with my love, and an extremely content tummy. Does life get any better than that?
