Have you ever cried over a job before?

Now be honest 😉 as I’m sure you have!

Well, confession or not, this project [below] has caused me quite a few tears.

Yep, this pair might have [actually] been too much for me, BUT I survived and I guess that’s what truly matters. I mean I knew upon delivery they were going to be A LOT of work. However, I had no idea as to how much effort they would really take.

Besides missing one leg [lol], the entire design of the front legs was faulty. They were either cracked or split in some way – simply not strong enough for the craftsmanship of the chairs. So, I had to hire a carpenter to create me some new ones for me. [Sigh.] And then, there were the insides: not only was the foam completely disintegrated, they were also full of mold = my favorite :/ quickly turning them into a total gut job.

Now one would think the challenges would stop there.

NOPE! This is where I only have myself [and my creative brain] to blame. My plan was [needless to say] a little bit advantageous. First off, I had never worked with velvet before. [Fail #1!] Secondly, the curvature of the backs was also something I had not yet encountered. [Are you freaking kidding me, Jenna?!] Then you add-in the other two types of different fabric and you’ve got a one-way ticket to CRAZYVILLE!

I only wish I was kidding . . .

In the end, though, I AM glad I took them on. It’s a labor of love. Sure, this particular trade might require many attempts on any given day, but the weird pleasure I get seeing my “Before and After’s” is [honestly] worth all the pain.

I’m just ready for my straight jacket now!
